There are also more tranquil beaches such as Areas, Agra, Montalvo, and Major. They are well-known for their fine, white sand and crystal clear water that is characteristic of this coast.

Historic center of Sanxenxo and surrounding areas
The historic center of Sanxenxo, just 4 km from Hotel Ancora, offers beautiful landscapes and a rich cultural heritage. Along the way, you will find the remarkable A Lanzada archeological site, where you will find a necropolis that dates back to the 8th century BC.
This area is rich in manors (pazos) and ancestral homes (casas solariegas), and in the municipality of Sanxenxo alone, there are 8 manors, each more interesting and beautiful than the last.
The churches and chapels in the center truly stand out. Some examples of Romanesque architecture can be found in the churches of San Xoán de Dorrón, Santa María de Adina and Santo Estevo de Noalla. Examples of more modern architecture are those of San Pedro de Bordóns, Santa Eulalia de Nantes, the church of San Pedro de Vilalonga, and the chapels of San Tomé (Gondar) and Santa Catalina (Portonovo).
Raised granaries, or hórreos, display another example of popular Galician architecture, and Sanxenxo features 35 that are of high value and cultural interest. Sanxenxo also boasts many fountains, bridges, and mills.
